'The Avengers' Collectibles Invade Local Comic Shops This Spring

As you may have heard, the single biggest superhero movie ever made is coming to a theater near you May 4th 2012. The Avengers boasts half a dozen of earths mightiest superhero's, a couple super villains, and evidently thousands upon thousands of alien invaders! Long before the film is made public, The Avengers will blast into stores of every kind, all across the land. Sure, you will be able to find toys and action figures of all kinds at your local Wal-Mart or Target. However, it will be your local comic book and collectibles retailers that will be carrying some of the coolest Avengers tie-in's.


In March, Diamond Collectibles will release their 44th series of 'Mini-Mates' figures that will be dedicated to MARVEL comic's quintessential superhero team, and will be in stores April 2012! These tiny two inch figures have 14 points of articulation. Each mini-figure 2-pack includes two Marvel figures. This series includes Iron Man and Captain America, Hulk and Thor, and Giant Man and Kree Sentry. The set also includes a special variant pack with Ant-Man II and a Kree Sentry. Then there are these little guys! Heroclix is a mega-popular collectible miniature game in which you create your own team of superheroes and battle your friends! This all new series based on The Avengers will be available in store in March 2012. Here are the full details from WizKids/NECA:
