3 All New Clips From Studio Ghibli's 'The Secret World of Arrietty'

This years English language offering from Disney and Studio Ghibli is not your typical offering from the Japanese studio. While most of the studio's films have style, sensibility, and origins that may be somewhat unfamiliar to American audiences, that simply isn't the case with this film. The Secret World Of Arietty is a film puts a very unique twist on a familiar children's classic about the little people who live under the floorboards.

The film follows the adventures of girl named Arietty who happens to be a very little person... like, 4 inches tall. She and her parents live in complete secrecy and "borrow" items from the humans who live above the floor. If this premise seems familiar, it should. The film is actually based on the 1952 children's classic The Borrowers by author Mary Norton.

You may have seen the 1997 film version starring John Goodman and Jim Broadbent? The Secret World of Arrietty was released in Japan in 2010 and finally heads to American theaters on February 17th.

Residing quietly beneath the floorboards are little people who live undetected in a secret world to be discovered, where the smallest may stand tallest of all. From the legendary Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Ponyo) comes "The Secret World of Arrietty," an animated adventure based on Mary Norton's acclaimed children's book series The Borrowers. Starring the voice talents of Will Arnet, Amy Poehler, Carol Burnette, and Saoirse Ronan . The Secret World of Arrietty arrives in theaters on February 17th
