This Friday, November 6th, Disney's "A Christmas Carol" will finally be released to theaters in Stunning 3-D. We here at DisFanReview have been covering this film and Disney's landmark marketing campaign; "Christmas Carol Train Tour" for the better part of a year. Now that the release is just days away we thought we would BLOW UP our regular "Video Madness" feature and Put together a HUGE video celebration of Disney's "Christmas Carol." So, we started from the beginning. First, we have our video of the Train and all the awesomeness inside.
I noticed, a couple months ago, a decided difference between the U.S. trailer for "Christmas Carol" and the U.K. version. I chalk this up to the "Train Tour" which began in May in Los Angles, and toured 47 cities throughout the summer. So American audiences have already had 5 months of hype, and were largely more aware of the film. Not to mention the U.K. version was slightly longer.
Now the next three videos are clips from the end of the film. They are in what I believe is chronological order. These are fun to watch just to marvel at the detail, which is still staggering even over less than ideal internet video.
Now talk about a difference in trailers. Our last video is the Japanese trailer for "A Christmas Carol". And it is the best of the bunch!(Aside from our "Train Tour" video, of course.)There is FAR LESS emphasis on eye popping effects than in the U.S. and U.K. versions and seems to showcase the dark tone of the film, or at least thats the impression I got. The story is king in this trailer. The assumption of the audiences familiarity with the story, is not made in this trailer because "A Christmas Carol" is a far more familiar story to American & British audiences than it is to Japanese audiences. -Admiral Duke
