Video Madness: Magic City Mayhem's Retro WDW Series

For a long time we have been aware that Mikey over at Magic City Mayhem had been sitting on a treasure trove of Walt Disney World video dating back to the early 90's.
The video was all shot by his father during numerous family trips to the Orlando parks. He was recently able to convert the old video over to digital with some really surprising results. According to Mikey he has enough raw footage that he could be releasing these retro videos for at least the next year.

Our first video falls into Magic City Mayhem's Retro-Blend category. A collection of seemingly random video clips from various parts of Walt Disney World. You will love all this blast from the past, including a look back at the "outrageous" Disney ticket prices from the early 1990's.

Our second video is a timely look back at Mickey's Birthdayland. That section of the Magic Kingdom park was eventually converted into Mickey's Toontown Fair. However, that entire section of the park is now closed and will be permanently removed as part of the massive Fantasyland expansion. Notice the intro shot that gives you a glimpse of Mickey's Toontown Fair entrance as it appeared prior to it's shut down, and suddenly reverts back nearly twenty years to reveal Mickey's Birthdayland.

Our final entry is a multiple angle video of the Disney Mania show which once took place at Cinderellas Castle at Magic Kingdom. The one noticeable difference between this show and the kind song and dance shows they produce at the parks now, is the presence of a live band. Nowadays it is much easier for prerecorded music to be pumped in through the PA system. As well it decreases the amount of people on stage and thus reduces the possibility of performer mistakes. Also the prerecorded music adds to that sense of magic...However, watching this video will make you appreciate and miss the days of the live band.
