For the longest time, we hadn't heard of, or seen any footage from Captain America: The First Avenger. The buzz for the film was kept intentionally quiet. The primary reason for this was THOR. Seems that MARVEL wanted make sure that with Captain America hitting theaters only two short months after THOR, that their two potential summer blockbusters were not competing with each other. It may have worked. THOR had a respectable showing in the early summer and the films success, or perhaps it's lack of failure, has provided a safe window of opportunity for MARVEL to really begin promoting Captain America: The First Avenger. This new trailer really sells the All-American story and illustrates the truly rich collection of actors,characters, and elements that Joe Johnston has put together for this film. But, one has to wonder. After the bad taste that audiences have in their mouth from a disappointing Green Lantern movie, will the general public flock to theaters to see Captain America?
