TOYS! A Sneak Peek at D23 Expo Exclusives

The D23 Expo is just two weeks away and news about all the coolness to be had is flying wildly across the internet. Sure we could give you a rundown of all of the events to be experienced over the three day expo, But that information is already quite easy to find. Besides, don't they give you a free schedule of events when you walk in the door? Seriously though, we will keep focused on all the cool movie,TV,and video game news sure to break free at this years event. And then there is the TOYS!!!


FUNKO has just released details about their two exclusive POP! Vinyl figures that will be unleashed upon the masses at this years expo. The first, and probably most drool inducing exclusive thus far is the 9″ metalic Steamboat Willie with only 360 pieces being made available at $50 each. The other, and more checkbook friendly, POP! Vinyl exclusive is the 3″ Flocked or fuzzy Lotso Huggin Bear. Only 480 of this figure will be made available at $15 each.


Mattel's "Matty Collector" brand is releasing two very cool PIXAR exclusives at this years D23 Expo. Both retail for $19.99 and can actually be pre-ordered beginning August 8th at the Matty Collector website and be picked up at their booth inside the Disney Living Pavilion at the Expo. The first Exclusive is a black & white Woody figure that comes packaged inside a very cool retro television. The set commemorates the characters classic TV roots as depicted in Toy Story 2. The second exclusive is a CARS 2 die cast Finn McMissile in submarine mode, with a very cool diorama package the depicts the opening scene from the film. Thus lending credence to the idea that CARS 2 was a very pretty, 2 hour long, toy commercial. All cynicism aside, two very cool items.


And then there are the Vinylmation™... Yes, we showed these to you a while back but it doesn't hurt to revisit something this cool. There will be 4 Vinylmation™ available at the Disney Dream Store. The first will be the official D23 Expo 3" figure by artist Maria Clapsis with an edition size of 4800. The second 3" figure is retro Disney hero Davy Crockett by artist Casey Jones, and the third is Donald Ducks cousin Gladstone Gander by artist Thomas Scott. Both of those figures have an edition size of 1200 and all of the 3" figures retail for $13.95. The 9" figure is Butch The Bulldog rendered by artist Eric Caszatt. Butch was Pluto's nemesis from the 1930's Mickey Mouse short's. The figure will retail for $44.95.
