I remember, years ago, my first encounter with Star Tours. I was about 12 years old when I boarded the Starspeeder 3000 for the first time. Being a HUGE Star Wars fan, the Disneyland attraction made a significant impression on me. Ever since then, I have wanted a cool Starspeeder to load up with my action figures. Yes, this dream has extended into adulthood. At Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando, way back in August of 2010, Disney unveiled plans to release a Starspeeder 1000 play set which is based on the new incarnation of the attraction and is compatible with Hasbro's standard 3 3/4" figures.
At last, this much wanted item is blasting it's way into Disney Parks. The play set is scheduled to arrive inside Walt Disney World at Disney's Hollywood Studio's Tatooine Traders store, right next to Star Tours. The Starspeeder 1000 will be released in late December and will retail for $55. Due to licencing restrictions, this item will only be available inside the Disney Parks and not at DisneyStore.com. Still no word on when we can expect to see the Starspeeder 1000 play set at Disneyland.
