Slytherin Hits The Sunset Strip - Harry Potter Coming To Universal Studios Hollywood

A chill wind just swept across Anaheim and the greater Los Angeles area. Like a Dementor sweeping through a warm room, a different kind of magic is coming, what could it be? Harry Potter. Duh. According to both the L.A. Times and the Wall Street Journal, the original Universal Studio's park is set to bring the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter to Southern California.

The west coast version is set to be a near duplicate of the original attraction which opened at Universal Studio's in Orlando, Florida in the summer of 2010. When the Harry Potter themed land first debuted, attendance at the theme park skyrocketed and has seen extremely strong increases through 2011. The park is a faithful re-production of Hogwarts school and Hogsmeade Village, both locations are featured heavily in the Harry Potter books and films.

The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter in Orlando is an incredibly fun place to visit, with some very cool interactive elements, fun stores and great food. Oh! And dont forget the Butter beer. Having said that, it is quite small. Which may not be an entirely bad thing given that Universal Studios Hollywood is incredibly land locked. It'll be interesting to see if this all new version of the attraction will have the same overall success as it's Florida counterpart, given that the California theme park industry is largely locals oriented where as the Orlando theme park is more of a global vacation destination. An official announcement is expected next week.
