We have never failed to call out D23 on their failings. However, if we are going to do that then we must be prepared to commend Disney's official Fan Club when they get something right. In fact, it seems that it may become something of a streak. A few weeks ago we told you about a whole slew of new benefits for D23 members, as well as some really fascinating D23 events that were happening in places other than the Disney Parks or Studios.
To celebrate D23's 3rd anniversary, the fan club is begining a 23 day scavenger hunt on Twitter. The whole thing kicks off tomorrow at 10am(Pacific Time). All you have to do is follow the official D23 Twitter account at @DisneyD23. Then, watch for the scavenger hunt challenge. The first twitter user to submit a valid photo or video based on the challenge is the winner for that day. What we find to be the coolest part of this contest is that the prizes are D23 exclusive merchandise. Some of this stuff was sold at D23 Expo, but some of them are D23 Member exclusives that are no longer available.
If there is a downside for D23 members, it's that the contest is open to EVERYONE. Thats right, the third anniversary scavenger hunt is open to people who are not even members. HOWEVER, you shouldn't let it burn you up too much. D23 informed us today that while the contest is open to everyone, D23 members will have a considerable advantage over non-members in some of the scavenger hunt challenges.
