Oscar winning Director Andrew Stanton(Finding Nemo, WALL-E) has a precious few short weeks left, to sell his upcoming sci-fi epic, John Carter to audiences. The film's PR machine got a much need shot in the arm when the films Super Bowl ad ran last week. The sweepstakes tie-in with the NFL didn't hurt either. Now, for the second time in a week, Disney releases more new footage from the film. This time, from Disney UK. This quick video features a lot of great shots of the film's more fantastic elements. Ships, exotic beasts, and legions of four armed alien Tharks! All this high octane footage is used to show that Edgar Rice Burroughs came up with a lot of the concepts that are prevalent in modern Sci-Fi entertainment. Before Star Wars, Before AVATAR, there was John Carter.
John Carter tells the tale of war-weary, former military captain John Carter, who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly involved in a conflict of epic proportions between the inhabitants of the planet. In a world on the brink of collapse, John Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.
