Once upon a time, the world had never heard of Tim Burton. In that long ago time, before Beetlejuice, before Nightmare Before Christmas, Before Alice In Wonderland there was Frankenweenie. Tim Burton's first live action film was a short film about a young boy who re-animates his pet dog after the pooches untimely demise. Now Burton & Disney are in production of a feature length animated version of the same story. Now Disney has released the very first teaser trailer for the film, which draws heavily upon classic horror filimf like Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein. Always a fan of the classic horror genre, Tim Burton has finally returned to the look and feel that made him a cinematic god.
Frankenweenie is a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new ‘leash on life’ can be monstrous.
Frankenweenie opens in theaters nationwide on October 5, 2012.
