Leave it to Disney Japan. They have the very best movie trailers. It's true. While most of the movie trailers that Disney will release to U.S. will be similar if not identical to the ones they will release in Europe, the Japanese version is typically very different. However, the last time we saw a Japanese trailer this vastly different was 2009's A Christmas Carol. While the domestic trailers for BRAVE have focused on Merida as a strong female character, this trailer focuses on the stories mythical elements and really communicates a much darker tone than we have seen before. Unfortunately the entire trailer is in Japanese. So, we can only speculate about the relationship between Merida's triplet brothers and the three little bear cubs in the trailer. There is also a ton of new footage here, OH! Did you see this AMAZING poster? This has the look and feel of a much more epic film than what the domestic ad campaigns have communicated thus far. Thanks to these two new tid-bits from Disney Japan, BRAVE does NOT look like just another Disney Princess movie!
