To be honest, by Saturday morning there were more than a few frustrated fan boys at Star Wars Celebration VI. Not that the event wasn't an awesome spectacle of all things STAR WARS, it was but there was an air of annoyance that seemed to be with every single person at Celebration VI. Why such consternation? To put it quite simply, fans in attendance were baffled by the fact that, George Lucas was not coming to what is essentially his own party.
Then it happened. On Saturday morning during the "Super Secret STAR WARS Panel," Seth Green and the team behind CartoonNetworks ROBOT CHICKEN, introduced their all new television project STAR WARS: Detours. The show is a hilarious take on the Star Wars Universe that focuses, not so much on the marquee characters from Star Wars but on 'regular citizens,' with hilariously outrageous results. After Green and company showed a video clip that featured a cameo from George Lucas, the man himself appeared on stage. With his typical understated and wry wit, Lucas heartily endorsed the project and the crew who are bringing it to life.
