Last summer, guests at Disney's Hollywood Studios inside Walt Disney World in Florida first got the chance to build their very own, customized, astromech droid, thanks to Hasbro and Disney. The "Build A Droid" Experience debuted in May 2012 at the Tattooine Traders store and became an instant sucess. So much so that in August at STAR WARS Celebration VI, Imagineers at Disney's Merchandise panel announced that the experience would be expanded throughout the Disney Parks around the world.

Now, the experience has come to Walt's original Magic Kingdom, of Disneyland, and is expected to be just as popular...If not more so, than it's Florida counterpart. Guest's can find this amazing experience in Tomorrowland as they exit STAR TOURS: The Adventures Continue, inside the Star Traders store and begin creating their own droid. The Astromech droids, best represented by fan favorite R2-D2 are famous in the Star Wars films for being resourceful maintenance droids, who are both talented and versatile. So versatile in fact, that in the all new 'Build A Droid' Experience, guests can give their droids, a variety of different colors and even a few hats. Including their very own set of 'mickey ears' or Indiana Jones famous fedora! These droids are compatible with HASBRO's Star Wars action figure line and fit inside most of vehicles and play sets offered in the companys toy line. Including the STAR TOURS, Starspeeder 1000 playset that is available exclusively at the Disney Parks.
