For this Tuesday tip I wanted to let people know about one of Walt Disney World's best kept secrets, and it’s not the Disney Vacation Club, it is Characterpalooza!
Characterpalooza is a daily event that happens at Disney's Hollywood Studios that most have never heard of. It is a character meet and greet that you won’t find on the times schedule. The characters that appear are random and many and you will find even a few rare ones.
Where is it? It takes place next to Echo Lake on the Streets of America. Common characters to apprear have been Captain Hook & Mr. Smee, Gepetto, the Queen of Hearts Stitch, Pinocchio, and Snow White.
Some other characters to appear have been Jafar, Rafiki, Mary Poppins with 2 Penguins, Chip & Dale, Jasmine and Genie, the Wicked Queen (from Snow White), Meeko, Pocahontas with Meeko, Mulan and Goofy.
Now, the only way to know of Characterpalozza is happening is with the following schedule based on the show times for Fantasmic.
· If Fantasmic isn't scheduled for the evening, Characterpalooza will NOT occur.
· If one Fantasmic show is scheduled, Characterpalooza will occur at 4:30 p.m. near Echo Lake and 5:30 p.m. on the Streets of America.
· If two Fantasmic shows are scheduled, Characterpalooza will occur only at 6:00 p.m. on the Streets of America.
