On April 30th, 2019 the actor who brought Chewbacca to life, Peter Mayhew passed away. He was 74. Obviously, Mayhew wasn't the first of the core original trilogy cast to pass away. Princess Leia herself, Carrie Fisher passed away in December of 2017.
On Thursday night May 23rd, days after what would have been Mayhew's 75th birthday. Harrison Ford was asked by Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon about his friendship with Mayhew. Ford's response is touching beyond words.
