With the official opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge less than 72 hours away, Disneyland is about to make it 'official!' The opening ceremonies and dedication of the new addition to Disneyland park is likely to be a pretty big event with a few Star Wars celebrities sure to take the stage. 8:10 pm - Live Blog begins. The opening sequence with a slew of new footage of the land. Once again Disney Parks wants you to know that Reservation are CLOSED!
8:19 - Disney Parks Blog will have a new Galaxy's Edge Wallpaper to download at the blog.
8:22 - A quick look at the Droid Builders experience. Word is if you've got $25,000 you can buy a life-size Astromech droid!
8:25 - Ceremony begins... Bob Iger takes the Stage. Yes Bob, Galaxy's Edge look's Fantastic. I always marvel that at these things people feel like they have to remind you what Star Wars is.
I think this is George Lucas' introduction... I can't believe how good that FALCON looks! Bob compares George Lucas to Walt Disney. it's a fair comparison. Bob thanks the team at Disney Imagineering, Lucasfilm, etc...
8:30 - George Lucas takes the stage... George Lucas says Galaxy's Edge is Star Tour on STEROIDS. He said this could have gone wrong... BUT IT DIDN'T! George Loves Galaxy's Edge and say's it'll change your life.
8:32 - Billy Dee Williams Takes the stage. His daughter was with him... Being involved with Star Wars has been a special part of his life. Unfortunately... He can't read a teleprompter very well... But who cares WE LOVE LANDO!
8:34 - MARK HAMILL on stage with George Lucas & Billy Dee Williams. Hamill says that the experience of STAR TOURS opening was one that couldn't ever be surpassed. He admits that he was wrong. Hamill does one of the things he does best: EXPRESS HIS LOVE FOR THE FANS THAT LOVE HIM.
8:38 - Bob Iger introduces the CITIZENS(Cast members) of Batuu... Chewy tries to start up the Falcon... HAN SOLO himself... Harrison Ford takes the stage! A little off cue. But to christen the new Millennium Falcon at Galaxy's Edge Harrison Ford said: " Peter, This one is for you!"
8:40 - Bob Iger: "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is Open!"
