"Black Hole" remake rises from the ashes of "20,000 Leauges"

This morning Reuters is reporting that Disney Studios President, Rich Ross, who only a week ago torpedoed the remake of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" has "green lit" a remake of the 1979 Disney classic "The Black Hole." This switch from a sea faring action adventure to Sci-Fi, Special effects, spectacle... coupled with Disney's slate of upcoming Sci-Fi film's ("Flight of the Navigator" Remake and Pixar's "John Carter of Mars") seem to indicate a new direction for Disney Live action films. More emphasis on Space, and technology and less on more traditional fare like "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Prince of Persia." A fact that seems to be confirmed by the fact that both Joseph Kosinski and Sean Bailey, the director and producer of Disney's new "Tron: Legacy," Will both be on board for this return voyage.
