Though we have seen images of the Captain America suit as worn by a stunt guy, This is the first official image of Actor Chris Evans as the shielded one. Admittedly, we are cautiously optimistic about this film. Captain America is just one of those characters that film Directors have to be very careful with and director Joe Johnston(The Wolfman) has already said that his captain wont be a jingoistic, flag waving, patriot. Which beg's the question: "You do know this is CAPTAIN AMERICA...right?"
Still, this image is terribly intriguing because Evans really looks the part. I just hope Captain America: The First Avenger is everything we hope it can be. In addition to Evans, The film also stars Hugo Weaving, Sebastian Stan, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Dominic Cooper, Stanley Tucci, Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson. Captain America comes to the rescue July 22, 2011, but you can see a sneak peek of the film when Entertainment Weekly hits news stands tomorrow.
