There isn't a Christmas that goes by that I don't think about this somewhat forgotten Christmas classic. Created by Disney Animation studios in 1978, The Small One is the only remotely Christian centric film ever produced by Disney.
The story follows the life of a young farm boy who lives in ancient times. He is very devoted to his donkey that he calls Small One. It soon becomes obvious to the boys father that the animal is too small and too old to complete the same chores that younger stronger animals are able to do.
He orders his son to go to town and sell the animal. After a few misadventures the boy finally finds the perfect person to sell Small One to which leads the animal to a destiny that he and the boy could never have predicted.
