Oops! Disney UK Releases Misprinted Promotional Poster For 'The Muppets'

Who ever runs social media & PR for Disney Studio's UK is having a bad day. It happens. However, I doubt that when you make a mistake it is open and visible to thousands if not millions of people. Unfortunately that kind of mistake befell the good folks at Disney UK when they released this brand new promotional poster for The Muppets via the @DisneyMoviesUK twitter account.

The image is a variation on the International poster that was released last week. However, this image has a release date of February 2011. Which was actually 5 months ago and makes this image a rather high profile misprint. Luckily for them they were able to pull the image quite quickly and it is likely that it was viewed by fewer than a hundred people. Unfortunately for that unlucky employee at Disney UK, DisFanReview and StichKingdom.com picked it up & now we are sharing it with you.

We spoke with @DisneyMoviesUK and they indicated that the image is part 1 of a "quad" that will make a full poster when all 4 images are put together and that a corrected version of this poster will be released quite quickly. The Muppets hit U.S. theaters on Thanksgiving and finally arrives in the UK in February of 2012...not 2011.

It's actually very Muppet like. Wouldn't it be just like Zoot or Gonzo to write February 2011. They should have played it off. Came back with the same sign. X'd out 2011 in red marker or red paint and wrote 2012 under it. Photoshop a red marker or paint brush in Kermits hand and DONE! Then when you release the other three pieces of the quad slip the corrected #1 in later... or something. Sometimes mistakes are just opportunities for the creative.
