Casting Call Reveals 'Lone Ranger' Working Title & More

It's no secret that Disney's upcoming reboot western The Lone Ranger begins production in New Mexico this fall. Thanks to a casting call notice released by Elizabeth Gabel Casting we know a little bit more. The casting notice does not mention the films actual title. In the title line of the notice we see that The Lone Rangers working title is Silver Bullet.

Which is significant in two ways. First, silver bullets play a major part in the Lone Rangers origin story. It is also significant because Disney is employing the same strategy here as they did for the production of The Avengers. Disney was able to keep the Avengers operation quiet for a long time using the working title of 'Group Hug.'

Also in this notice we find out a few key pieces about the films shooting schedule.Shooting for The Lone Ranger is slated to begin in mid-October in & around Silver City New Mexico. The production will then move to Albuquerque Studio's sometime in December. A source on the periphery of the Lone Ranger production was able to confirm that this extras casting call is indeed for the Disney produced film and all the information contained herein is right on the money. Here is the full press release from Elizabeth Gabel Casting.

PRESS RELEASE
EG Casting will hold an extras casting call Sunday August21 at Western New Mexico University, 1000 W. College St, Silver City, NM from 10 am to 5 pm. The call will be in the Student Memorial Building, third floor. Please bring a headshot and know your sizes in inches. If you have a profile on this site you DO NOT have to attend the casting call.

The production is looking for Native Americans, Asians, Anglos and Hispanics and African Americans of all ages, as well as expert horse riders to appear in non-speaking roles in this major Hollywood film. These are all paid positions.

REMEMBER, Men must grow out facial hair and head hair. We don't want long hair, but not neatly trimmed. It is all about the facial hair - just like Cowboys and Aliens. And Women please remember,we are looking for LONG HAIR, below the shoulder, no bangs with a natural color. No bleached blonds or weirdly unnatural reds and blues. We may go some sizes up from 8 on this one.

Finally, this long awaited production is coming. We will start in the Silver City area in October and move to the Albuquerque area later in the shoot probably December. Be SURE you update your information and profile Pic.
