The all new season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars just got started on September 16th, and already we are 4 episodes in! Before the next big story arch begins, we have decided to give a mostly spoiler free run down of what has transpired thus far, in that galaxy far far away.
If there has been a common element thus far in Season 4, it is water. The first three episodes of the season were Water Wars, Gungan Attack and Prisoners. The three episodes formed the seasons first big story arch and tell the story of the Quarren and Mon Calamari civil war. Believe me, it is epic. These episodes also feature the shark like villain Riff Tamson who will go down in infamy as another ultra-cool Star Wars villain who goes woefully under utilized.
After the King of the planet Dac is assassinated, the two races of the planet, the Quarren and the Mon Calamari are at odd's. The King's son Prince Lee Char struggles to bring both sides together, little does he know that the Quarren have already sided with the Sepratist's. Senator Padme Amidala and Jedi Anakin Skywalker come to the planet to aide Captain Akbar in protecting the young prince. Can disaster be averted and order be returned to the once peaceful aquatic world?
The fourth episode of the season, Shadow Warrior takes us right back to the seas. Yet, these are the more familiar waters of Naboo. It seems that the Separatist's are desperate to get their hands on some underwater real estate! A plot has been set in motion to anger the Gungans into attacking the surface dwelling Naboo. Long story short, Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala are dispatched to smooth things over. One interesting item to note about this episode is the return of Captain Roos Tarpals who has now been promoted to General. General Tarpals manages to do something that the entire Jedi Order has failed to do through out the series. Unfortunately for the General, a certain Jedi manages to screw it all up.
This Friday, The Clone Wars finally emerges from the water as we see our favorite protocol droid sent on a Mercy Mission... Season 4 is already shaping up to be the best yet and thus far has been massively entertaining.
