If you are an avid viewer of Star Wars: The Clone Wars or regular reader of DisFanReview, then you are surely aware that the past two episodes of the hit show on Cartoon Network have centered around the worlds most famous droid's R2-D2 & C-3PO. You may also be aware that the entire story arc is a tribute to the 1985 Star Wars cartoon series called DROID's.
The show was never a wide success and was only on television for one full season. However, most people view the show with a sense of warm nostalgia that blinds them to how bad it actually is, and how much the show later influenced the STAR WARS Prequels. In fact, General Grevious' Wheel Bike, The Boonta Eve Race, and the planet Bogden, were all elements that originated from the DROID's show.
It is all the more ironic that the generation of STAR WARS fans that despise the Star Wars prequels are the same generation that hold a great deal of sentimental reverence for this show. A show that essentially lays the early ground work for the prequels that they dislike so very much.
