Forty years ago today the Most Magical Place On Earth, The Magic Kingdom opened it's doors and with it the Walt Disney World era began. Today Disney prepared a party like no other at the park that started it all. Our man in Orlando, Mikey Mayhem of Magic City Mayhem.com was on hand to get the fan's point of view from the most magical celebration on earth!
Your trip into Walt Disney World begins on the ferry approach to The Magic Kingdom. From there you begin the day with the grand park opening ceremony. You might even spot Disney World expert and Fan celebrity of sort's Lou Mongello in the crowd. From there you make your way to Cinderella's Castle as the excitement builds for the day's festivities.
Here you get to enjoy the world famous Main Street Philharmonic, The Magic Kingdom band as they perform many of your favorites as they get the crowd warmed up... However with the sun beating down on the crowd in front of Cinderella's Castle, they look pretty warm already.
Here you get to to see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and yes, a veritable cavalcade of Disney characters as the parade toward Cinderella's castle. It's pretty cool to hear the collection of classic Magic Kingdom parade music from years gone by as the characters wave and entertain the crowd.
Finally, Disney Park's has produced their own short video, with a collection of video highlights from through out the day. As reports flood in we hear that a magical time was had by all. Happy Birthday Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney World, and here is to many, many more!
