Dwight Yoakam Is Out Of 'Lone Ranger' And William Fichtner Is In

Up until now we had been under the impression that country music star and critically acclaimed actor Dwight Yoakam was set to portray the main villain in The Lone Ranger, gang leader Butch Cavendish. Now The Hollywood Reporter has broken the story that Yoakam is officially out. Now, director Gore Verbinsky and Producer Jerry Bruckheimer look to veteran character actor William Fichtner to portray the classic western villain.

Fichtner is a very familiar face in both film and TV, as he spent three seasons as Agent Alexander Mahone on the FOX hit Prison Break. He spent three seasons portraying Television Producer Phil Yagoda on HBO's Entourage. He was also featured in the opening scene of director Christopher Nolan's masterpiece Bat-Man film, The Dark Knight. Filming has reportedly already begun and The Lone Ranger is slated for a May 31st, 2013 release.
