Walt Disney Animation Releases First Footage Of MARVEL's "Big Hero 6"

When Disney announced that they were making an animated feature film about MARVEL's obscure team of Japanese Superheroes, most observers were skeptical. However, MARVEL has taken some steps to convince fans that this is a really good idea. Last year they re-released the Big Hero 6 graphic novel Brave New Heroes, written by comic book legend Chris Claremont. Comic book fans and newcomers alike were singing the praises of the book which can only be a step in the right direction.

Today, Walt Disney Animation released a short video... And we do mean short... That contains about 30 seconds of footage. The video doesn't show any of the characters from the story like Hiro Hamada or his robot Baymax, but the footage does give us a decent idea of the direction that the studio is taking with this film. it will indeed have an anime feel, but should be accessible to all audiences, especially the comic book fans. Regardless, it seems that MARVEL's first animated feature is poised to be a major cross over hit.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes Big Hero 6, an action comedy adventure about brilliant robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who finds himself in the grips of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy the fast-paced, high-tech city of San Fransokyo. With the help of his closest companion—a robot named Baymax—Hiro joins forces with a reluctant team of first-time crime fighters on a mission to save their city. Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, and featuring comic-book style action and all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, the CG-animated Big Hero 6 hits US theaters in 3D on November 7, 2014.
