STAR WARS fans are obsessive. Shocking, I know. Like Hunter S. Thompson once said, "Once you get locked in to a serious ACTION FIGURE collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can."
Okay, so Hunter S. Thompson wasn't talking about action figures, but the sentiment is absolutely true. STAR WARS fans, particularly adult fans have not only embraced the recent 6" BLACK SERIES line from Hasbro, they have hoarded, hunted and obsessed their collections to completion.
So much so that when Walgreens released an exclusive white 'prototype' Boba Fett last fall, collectors hoarded them to the point that this one single figure was fetching over $200 on Ebay.
STAR WARS action figures have been around for well over 35 years but the 3 3/4 scale was always the mainstay of the line, but the truth is... that scale is really played out. They've made every character from 6 movies under 4".
6" figures were a natural fit. They just felt right for adult collectors who needed something that wasn't the toys they played with as kids but something that also wasn't a $500 statue from Gentle Giant.
