4th of July comes to tragic end at WDW

It's a very strange feeling to wake up this morning and hear the tragic news, that a Walt Disney World Cast Member was killed in a collision between two Monorail trains. It was an even stranger feeling to see the pictures that are coming out. I think it's strange because every time that I have ever had the opportunity to ride on either of the extreme ends of a Monorail train, this exact possibility has always run through my mind. And in my minds eye, it always looked like the above picture. My most sincere hope is that this was just an unavoidable accident that could not have been foreseen. Today the hopes & prayers of all of us here at DisFanReview go out to the friends & family of fallen WDW Cast Member Austin Wuennenberg, He was 21, and had worked as a monorail pilot at Walt Disney World since 2008.

Disney's Official Statement
“Our hearts go out to Austin and his family, especially to the co-workers that knew him and worked with him. Today we're working with the Orange County Sheriff's Office and with OSHA as they investigate the incident,"
-Michael Griffin, the vice president of Walt Disney World Communications.
