Today Walt Disney World is welcoming a hero back from outer space! He spent over a year in orbit at the International Space Station, becoming the only Astronaut in history to spend that much time living weightless in the vacuum of space. A task that would have been arduous or even impossible for other Astronauts, but for Buzz Lightyear, it was no big deal. Mainly because Buzz is an action figure. He launched into space aboard the Space Shuttle in May of 2008 to help NASA promote careers in math & science. He's been hanging around the International Space Station ever since. Last month he caught the Space Shuttle home and has been resting and relaxing ever since. We would love to be at WDW to welcome the little hunk of plastic home, and to cheer and throw confetti during the ticker tape parade planned for him, but alas, I can't help but feel that throwing a parade for a plastic action figure is a bit...much. Even if it is a promotional tie in for the 3-D Toy Story Double Feature.
