Winnie The Pooh Trailer Hits The Net

When we first heard that Disney was bringing Winnie the Pooh back to the screen in a different way, we weren't sure what that meant. Having seen this trailer I am fully confident they are banking on nostalgia. A 'whats old is new again' kind of thing. How will this film be different from previous Pooh films? As best as we can tell it is different from the Pooh of the last 20 years or so. Notably absent from this film is Darby from the current Pooh TV show, and there doesn't seem to be a Heffalump anywhere in this Hundred Acre Wood. This Pooh reminds us of the classic Winnie The Pooh shorts of the late sixties and early 70's, That were eventually rolled into a feature film entitled "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh." So in that respect it will be an all new 'classic' tale of Winnie the Pooh. But have no doubts, this film is aimed at adults, just as much as it is for children. As Generation X heads into their 40's they long for the warm water color hues of their youth and who better to bring them back to it than Pooh? Which is why we believe it is no coincidence that Late Night Talk Show genius Craig Ferguson is the voice of Owl. Pooh returns to theaters on July 15 2011.-Admiral Duke
