Disney Set To Cast Yoakam & Carter In 'Lone Ranger'


With Disney pressing headlong into production of The Lone Ranger, casting news is coming at us fast and furiously. First off, Country musician and actor Dwight Yoakam has a pretty decent streak of portraying villains and scum bags. Weather it was Sling Blade, Panic Room or the CRANK films, Dwight Yoakam is an acclaimed actor who can steal a scene.

Now sources across the net are reporting that Yoakam is set to be the main villain, Butch Cavendish in The Lone Ranger. Cavendish is the brutal gang leader who is responsible for the death of 5 Texas Rangers and is the man responsible for the birth of The Lone Ranger.

It's also being reported that Johnny Depp's frequent co-star Helena Bonham Carter is also set to join the film. Carter, who can be seen in theaters right now as Bellatrix LaStrange in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows Pt.2, is in talks to portray a brothel owner who deals with outlaws and cut throats. Other big names currently in talks to appear in the film include Berry Pepper and Tom Wilkinson.

Johnny Depp is all set to portray Tonto, The actor so good he played twins in The Social Network, Armie Hammer will play Dan Reid aka The Lone Ranger and Gore Verbinski (Pirates Of The Caribbean 1,2,and 3) is set to direct. Filming is set to get underway in mid-October at Albuquerque Studios. After that, production will move to Texas.
