The Avengers may end up being the greatest comic book movie ever made... It could also be a complete dud. However, Disney and MARVEL have really done an outstanding job of marketing this film, and from trailers to posters to what have you... The promotional materials for The Avengers have been quite awesome. In an effort energize hard core fans and increase midnight release ticket sales, the studios held hostage a collection of six character posters that continue this marketing trend. Now Disney has released all six images and we have all of them here! The entire set is quite awesome, even though it does have a couple flaws. The image of Tony Stark aka Iron Man is the same image we have seen for a long while, but whatever. The second problem is monumentally more important and could prompt an outcry from fans! Everybody's favorite man from SHIELD, Agent Coulson(Clark Gregg) is completely left out as Agent Maria Hill(Cobie Smulders) gets the spot next to Nick Fury... does this suggest a minor roll for the long suffering Coulson? Honest truth is, he probably got bumped because he just isn't as pretty.

From Marvel Studios comes Marvel’s The Avengers — the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.
The Avengers assemble in theaters nationwide on May 4, 2012
