Mike Quinn has had a fascinating career in Hollywood. So, fascinating in fact, it didn't start in Hollywood it started in England. Mike got his start in the industry by sneaking on to the set of The Muppet Show, which he eventually parlayed into a regular gig on the show. He also eventually went to work with the Jim Henson company on films like The Muppet Movie, Labyrinth, The Great Muppet Caper, and eventually Return Of The Jedi.
Later in his career, Mike went on to become a character animator at PIXAR. He went on to work on films like Jurassic Park 3, Toy Story 2, and A Bugs Life. His career came oddly full circle when he went to work on STAR WARS Episode II, with Frank Oz as one of the animator's for Yoda. Mike had worked with Oz on several different puppets for Return of the Jedi. Most recently, he worked on the latest Muppet film, The Muppets, and is expected to work on the films follow up which goes into production later this year.
Frank Rich, a good friend of DisFanReview, and editor of StarWarsAutographCollection.com had the chance to sit down with Mike and talk a little about his career. Enjoy this fascinating conversation with one of the secret masters behind some of the biggest films in history.
